For those that do, sit tight for the new info. For those that don't, read on...
For a little over 18 months things have been shifting, billowing smoke and emitting low rumbling noise and the odd jazz trumpet over at the once cherished but sadly abandoned market building in Northampton Town. For a great deal of people the mere mention of Northampton prompts blank looks and vitriol (I know, I've done it) but I'm happy to say that there is now more than a little in this odd town to cheer, elate, placate and terrify... all in a very good way and oftentimes, all at once.
Back in 2006, after much heartfelt wrangling, the Northampton Arts Collective got out of the pub and into The Fishmarket. The NAC were a band of like minded artists and advocates devoted to making positive cultural changes in a barren Midlands town, The Fishmarket was a gigantic and beautiful building with all kinds of leaks, hidden rifle ranges and possibilities.
Thankfully, due to various kinds of support, The Fishmarket has slightly less leaks and has been transformed thusly...

Good eh?
Since then we have existed in sub zero temperatures with the occasional blindingly bright spell thanks to a plethora of wonderful artists, musicians, writers, designer makers, local heroes and new friends. The Fishmarket's mission is to create a contemporary arts space of national significance for Northampton over the next two years. We also support independent retail, general oddball arts activity, community projects and (above all) the new, the unusual and the brave. I'm not ashamed to say that it's going well so far.
For more information you could well visit

In this space I will post all the things we cannot yet fit on to the website. And more to boot.
